How to Prevent and Treat Bruxism

  • Bruxism- a habit of grinding or clenching the teeth

  • Clenching- tightly holding your top and bottom teeth together

  • Grinding- sliding your teeth back and forth over each other 

Symptoms of Bruxism:

  1. Headache or earache

  2. Sore Jaw

  3. Jaw Click

  4. Frequent Toothaches

  5. Facial Pain

  6. Worn or cracked teeth or fillings

      7. Tongue Indentations

      8. Insomnia (trouble sleeping)


      1. Stress Reduction

      2. Protective Nightguard or Occlusal Guard

      3. Medication for pain or muscle spasms

      4. Exercises to relax jaw muscles

      5. Fillings or other dental treatment to repair damaged teeth
