Restore the Beauty and Health of Your Smile with Long-lasting Dental Crowns

At Piney Creek Family Dentistry, we take pride in providing a rich menu of restorative dental care services to Centennial, Colorado, residents. While we emphasize preventive dental care, when it fails, we offer restorative dentistry to reinstate the function and form of your smile. One of the most popular therapeutic dental care procedures is dental crowns. Dr. Tiffany Fritz and the team offer natural-looking dental crowns to ensure your smile looks natural after restoration.

Why do I need a dental crown?

Dental crowns are tooth-shaped dental appliances that cover your entire tooth to change its color, size, shape, and strength. Dental Crowns are versatile to serve cosmetic and restorative functions in dentistry. Your dentist may recommend a dental crown to:

  • Strengthen a broken or cracked tooth
  • Aesthetically improve a misshapen, stained, or rotated tooth
  • Strengthen a treated tooth after root canal treatment
  • Complete the dental implant process
  • Treat a cavity too extensive for a typical filling
  • Secure a dental bridge on the abutment teeth

A dental crown may be small, but there are many instances when it can be used to restore your teeth and overall dental health. Want to find out if you are a prime candidate for a crown? The only way is to book an appointment with an experienced dentist like Dr. Fritz.

The dental crown procedure

Are you tired of living with a compromised tooth? Relief is only two dental appointments away! Crowning your tooth requires two dental visits. Much of the magic happens during the first appointment. After numbing your mouth, we reshape your tooth to create space for a crown. Then, we take your bite impressions with a digital scanner and send the images to a dental lab to manufacture your crown. Until your new appliance is ready, we will install a temporary crown to protect your smile.

The second appointment is for installing your permanent crown. Once we receive your crown from the dental lab, we polish it and make a few adjustments to ensure it fits comfortably. Once you are satisfied with the appearance and fitting of your crown, we bond it permanently to your tooth using dental cement and curing light.
