Dr. Tiffany Fritz of Piney Creek Family Dentistry, Centennial, Colorado, can help patients with dental issues, including teeth misalignment. Spaces, gaps, and overcrowding affect your smile and degrade your oral health. While many patients understand the importance of a straight smile, many cringe at the thought of conventional metal braces. Not anymore. We offer SureSmile® Clear Aligners — a braceless orthodontic system that uses clear, detachable aligners to correct teeth misalignment and bite problems.
Traditional metal braces use wire-connected brackets cemented on your teeth to move them to perfection over time. In contrast, SureSmile® uses clear teeth aligners — similar to whitening trays — to apply constant but gentle pressure on your teeth. Clear aligners is a popular teeth straightening system among adults and teenagers because of its comfortable and discreet design.
Dr. Fritz can use clear aligners to rectify numerous dental issues, including:
SureSmile® Clear Aligners is complex, but this system’s teeth straightening process is straightforward. If you’re eligible for clear aligners, we will take digital scans to capture your smile information, simulate your treatment plan, and create custom-made aligners.
Your treatment requires between 20-50 aligners, depending on the complexity of your issue. You’ll wear each set of aligners for about two weeks before moving to the next in the series. This pattern continues until all your teeth are perfectly aligned.
SureSmile® Clear Aligners must be worn for at least 22 hours daily. When used as directed, clear braces do the job in 12-18 months, although patients with mild alignment issues can see results in just a few months.
Although SureSmile® is a versatile treatment, it isn’t ideal for everyone. Suitable patients must be at least 13 years or older and have no existing gum disease, cavities, or severe orthodontic issues like intrusion, extrusion, and significant tooth rotation.
It’s also worth noting potential users should be committed to wearing the trays for about 22 hours daily. Since clear braces are retractable, many patients may be tempted to remove them, reducing their efficacy. We recommend that patients only remove the aligners during meals and when cleaning their teeth.
Clear teeth straighteners are loved by adults and teenagers for their “invisibility.” This means you can straighten your teeth, and no one will notice you’re undergoing treatment. While discreetness is a biggie for clear aligners, it’s hardly the only perk. Other benefits include the following:
